FBI releases 191-page file on Steve Jobs
Then-President George H. Bush was considering the late Steve Jobs for a post on the President’s Export Council. He did not get the position but the appointment process involved a detailed background check and interviews of acquaintances. While nothing new to a man that has had a popular biography published, the report details Jobs’ earlier drug use, flexible integrity, and coarse personality. It also revealed that Steve Jobs had Top Secret security clearance from the U.S. government from 1988-1990; the potential appointment occurred in 1991.
